In case you've been wondering where the fantastic rotating brass sculpture in the club's native garden came from, here's the scoop. It came from Sergey Pavlov, our Russian pilot, artist, and past Moscow Circus performer.
I first hired Sergey to help improve the airpark property with a few of his artistic touches. He designed and built our drive-in gate, our Overlook Pavilion lighting, and the mythical and wonderfully whimsical brass and copper "flying boy" sculpture within our California Native Plant Garden. He modeled the boy after his son.
It seems he's now outdone himself with this newest addition that he has soley created and generously donated to the club.
If you haven't done so already, make sure you stop and admire this new mechanical sculpture, complete with a pair of hang gliders thermaling together in the wind. So precisely is it designed that it rotates in just the slightest breeze.
Please don't forget to let Sergey know what you think of it.
