Litespeed-S 3.5 for sale

Post by Ken Andrews »

It's true: my Litespeed-S 3.5 is for sale; asking $3100. Following are a few photos and a whole lot of details about it. It's appropriate for a Hang-4 pilot who wants to move up to a topless glider for a good price. Alternatively, I'm told that one could put a new sail on this frame, to get a Litespeed RX for a lot less than the cost of an all-new one. Please contact me for additional photos or a test flight.

Glider:
Litespeed-S 3.5
Options:
Red and black under-surface, UV-resistant white PX mylar top surface
Carbon outboard leading edges
Carbon sprogs
Zoom uprights
Carbon basetube
Standard equipment:
Aluminum inboard leading edges
Aluminum battens
Does NOT have carbon leading edge inserts
Original glider bag and pads

Current configuration and condition:
Glider flies straight, and always has. I've never adjusted the eccentric rings or anything to affect the symmetry.
Leading edges and nosecone have typical wear and scuffs; no patches. Upper surface of each wingtip shows typical wear along the fold line.
I've added carbon rods and a balsa insert in the trailing edge to eliminate flutter.
Carbon basetube is in virtually perfect condition.
Glider currently has 2.4mm (non-racing) side wires installed (10 flights, 15 flight hours since last replacement).
Outboard sprogs lowered 1/2 turn by Kraig Coomber to improve roll response.
Hang loop length is "Wills Wing Standard".
Wheels are not included, since I'll put them on my next glider.

Additional parts:
Spare downtube
Owner's manual
Batten pattern
Spare parts bag (primarily batten tips)

Flight and maintenance log highlights (lowlights?):
3/29/08: First flight
