Freedom 190 and other things

I bought this glider from Jeff at Morningside just before he passed away. He hardly had time to fly it himself and I only spe...

Hey Orion,

That is a pretty nifty gizmo you have there with the Arduino.. Possibilities are endless with Arduino's. I have been wanting to buy a dev kit and learn, but been way too busy lately.

Hey OP,

That trip looks amazing and it happens to be a week after my 40th birthday...argh That would be a cool way to celebrate... I might be a low time H3 by then..wonder if it would be OK for a low time H3.

As for glider shipping I think it needs to be under 10 feet.

Hey Orion,

In the picture with the wooden ramp it looks like there is a wooden post directly in front. Is this the case or just the angle the picture was shot at?

Saturdays Close Call / Midair on video.

Hello All, I was pretty sure I had the midair on film and went through my footage and I did. I have uploaded it in 3D, but for those without glasses the 3D can be turned off. Just click on the 3D icon and it can be turned off and it will be in 2D. I dont have any editing software yet, but when I do ...

More 3D flights from Saturday

Hello all, I made a mistake and the flight I posted as Jonathan is Greg Kendal. Anyhow, I posted a few more. The correct flight of Jonathan and a short one of myself in 3D. I have a lot more footage but no editing software yet so all I have is my launch and about 2 min of flying to keep below youtub...

Landing Approach by Jonathan in 3D

Hey all, I tested out a 3D GoPro setup at the spring air festival and I am slowly learnign how to work with the 3D files and how to post on Youtube. Anyhow, as a test, I chose a landing by Jonathan. If you dont have a 3D TV, you can watch it in Anaglyph (red, Cyan) glasses on any TV or computer moni...

Hey Barton,

For the PTT, why not see if you can mount the battery and circuit board on a watchband or neoprene wristband with a pocket for the board and then run an 8" wire to your finger with a new button.

Hey Barton, Are you using the small in ear piece or did you hack it to be able to use a larger speaker in the helmet. Just curious because I had seen these a while back, but ended up just makng my own wired set since I thought the cell phone style earpiece would be akward in your ear in a helmet. I ...

Hello Barton,

Will there be a new frequency for the H2's and lessons? I remember during a ride up to kagel with you that you said the frequency we use for instruction was a satelite COM frequency and that we should switch.

Your thoughts?

Well one plus is we'd get some spectator traffic from people who never knew we existed. Just like at Dockweiler. On the downside that could be an issue if people stray into our landing path. Wonder if there is someone we can inform as to the space we require to be safe and if they could jog the path...

Hello All,

I chose to go to Dockweiler instead of Kagel on Sunday to get more time in on the Freedom, so I was unaware of an accident until now. What happened? Blown launch? Contact with the hill flying too close?

Hope the only injury remains a hurt toe and he recovers quickly...
