I felt bad because I was circling so tight that it really wouldn't have been possible for the other pilot to join... that or it would have made me feel very uncomfortable, and I would have left. In other words, am I supposed to always accommodate another pilot that wants to join the thermal?

circling in tiny lift

I was in a really small thermal/slope lift over at towers and I had to circle really tight to stay in it. Someone else then came across the gap and I was pretty sure they wouldn't be able to find anything else than what I was in because I had been there for the past 30 minutes just scraping by. I fe...

Lost battery pack

Hey Everyone,
My Kenwood BT-8 battery pack fell out of my radio sometime during my flight, so if you happen to find a battery pack that is filled with 6 white Sanyo Eneloop batteries, could you please send it my way.

Thanks!

Not sure if this has already been incorporated into the gazebo design, but has anyone thought it might be handy to have a place to from where you can hang and test out your harness instead of doing it from the tree. I know it's not a big priority, but I figured I'd mention it..

Looking for Kagel Launch Brush Cleanup Work Party

Hey Everyone, I wanted to arrange a group to go up to the Kagel launch and help clear the brush down below launch. It's starting to get pretty tall and grab at Fred's feet ;) The plan is to go up to launch early in the morning and mow down as much brush as we can at both the HG and PG launches. I wa...

Yeah, there are a couple ropes there, but they aren't in good condition. My worry about replacing those ropes is if they come loose while someone has weight on them and falls down the mountain. There isn't much to anchor to so securing them could be a challenge...

Hiking Kagel for the early flight (10a)

Hey Everyone, I am planning on hiking Kagel this coming weekend (6/11 or 6/12) for the first (10am) flight and I wanted to see if anyone else was interested in joining me. I just did the hike last weekend and I figured I would try and do it once every weekend, but I might eventually drop that to onc...

My first real soaring flight at Kagel!

Wow! Yesterday (Sat) was so much fun!! I went up in the morning in the Windsports van and got off the mountain before everyone amassed at launch - it was definitely a crowded day in the air! I just wanted to send a big thanks out to Joe Greblo - it was a great opportunity to soar with him when I'm u...

Looking for a used vario

Hey Everyone,
I'm in search of a vario - I am just starting out and I don't feel like purchasing some new high-end model - just something that beeps when I'm in lift/sink. Socond-hand is totally cool, so that's why I thought I'd post my message here.

thanks!

I have a Flytec 4020. No GPS, but it records your last 10 flights' duration and max altitude.

I have all the manuals, etc.

Yeah.. I saw that - pretty trick, but not cheap. Plus, like you said, you've gotta keep everything charged up. But it's nice not having wires all over the place!

I ended up getting this: http://www.bikerhiway.com/motocomm-plugin-biketobike-communications-finger-helmet-mount-p-1437.html The price seemed descent and hopefully it will last for a good while. The connections aren't great and the construction isn't the beefiest in the world, but I'm going to reinf...
