Research
OP Looks like you have researched this at least to some extent. I have the following questions: 1. What benefit did clubs like CSS and Elsinor get or expect to get by being a 3? 2. What is the tax status of other clubs in the U.S.? Maybe USHPA could be of some help here. 3. There is a tax benefit to...

Wind conditions
The biggest problem with Mingus is the East facing launch with a prevailing West wind. I have stood on launch twice and had the wind change. The locals said they monitor the site below - if the wind is less that 10mph from the West at 11AM - then most likely the thermals will overpower the prevailin...

Requirement
I would think a helmet would be a REQUIREMENT due to insurance. Maybe CSS should simply revoke the pilots memberships and ban them from the LZ - similar to SHGA/Dino situation. CSS does seem to have a little more tolerance to the renegade mentality than SHGA. Aerobatics in 2010 resulting in two mish...

Remember?
Remember the time: A female family member of a tandem somehow sprayed the entire interior of the porta-potty. It was nasty, I don't even know how she physically did it. I'm not sure if I could have done the same as a dude. She may have been part skunk. Who i going to be cleaning this? Do I remember...

Just curious what we pay per year for the existing toilet(s) - one year round and a second for ~ 6 months.

What is in our favor...there is no time frame. Right now we are window shopping and that's free. I got the impression that there might be a time window to get the additional $25K. It also sounded like the $25K was not a sure thing. While bathrooms would be nice - how many club members are willing t...

Tell Me About It!
In 1931, we completed the Empire State Building in under 15 months (3 months ahead of schedule), 40% under budget and it remained the tallest building in the world for 40 years. Today we are building the new One World Trade Center building which will cost 10 times as much in equal dollars, take 10 ...

Floor Drain
I'm all for floor drains but wouldn't that require a connect to the main sewer line? No impossible but I've heard it is expensive.Busto wrote:Floor drains would make cleaning fast and easy.

While $25K is nice - I highly doubt it was his money. I suspect it is the tax payer's money he is giving us! A HUGE difference!

Naming
Tom did more for the club than most members - myself included. However, I'm hesitant to support naming the entire structure for him.
I certainly would support a plaque acknowledging his contribution and affixing it to the structure - maybe on one of the main support x-beams.
Just my thoughts.
