Hi folks,
I'm a H4 who moved to LA from NY last summer. I've been flying Ellenville (and still lurk on the syhgpa forum) and more recently Marshall. I'd like to fly Kagel and hopefully move my glider (U2 160) from Marshall to Kagel. Of course, I'll need a site intro. I enjoy flying with Rob and Dianne, but would like to try a closer site. I spoke with Joe today and he suggested I post on the local forum. So, can anyone throw me a bone, here? Any suggestions regarding storing my glider and getting it up to launch? Anybody want to show the new guy where the nasty rotors are? Hope to hear from someone.

For glider storage your going to want to speak with Jay Devorak, the storage and membership manager. He's almost always in the LZ around 10am on most weekends.
There's a pretty good group of advanced pilots at Kagel that will most definitely show you the rotors and much more. If you can get away on Friday's there is usually a good crew of pilots that show up.
You may want to familiarize yourself with some faces and you can do that here.
Kagel is a pretty special place to fly that will have you meet many new friends and give you a lifetime worth of flying. Welcome!

You will probably find that getting a ride up the hill is easier at Kagel than Crestline/Marshall. You can either call Windsports and book a spot on one of several trips or call Hungry Joe for a spot. Both of these take "reservations" days in advance - which sure beats having to call at 7:30AM. If that doesn' work - most people just show up and get a ride with one of the many others that are driving up the hill that day. The going "donation" rate is either $15 or $20.
