Emergency Contact Information

Post by Chip »

In the upcoming months, I'm pretty sure the SHGA will make a concerted effort to get all club members to submit updated emergency contact information. In nearly all walks of life this information is REQUIRED if you want to participate in just about anything (except for maybe walking).

It's a good idea to have this information available to the club.

I totally agree. It is extra effort to maintain that information for an association or company but it is important to have available for each member their current emergency contact information.

Keep a Copy in Your Harness

It's also a good idea to keep a copy of your emergency information in your harness. This should probably include your name, address, blood type, insurance information, any allergies or other medical conditions, and emergency contacts. A 3x5 index card works well for this.

I Put all my medical info: blood type, medications, doctor's phone, etc in a spreadsheet and printed it out real small, then laminated it into a small credit card size that fits into my wallet. Now I always have it on me. I think I'll add next of kin contacts too.
