Typo in my resignation post

Post by Joseph »

Ken Andrews and the board have convinced me that a rather serious typo exists in some of my posts. After serious thought I realized that members may somehow get the idea that I have resigned as President of the SHGA. To clear the air I am now the current President of the SHGA at least until the end of term in December, perhaps beyond if you guys (meant in a non-gender specific way) see fit to re-elect me.

I thank everyone for their support and hope that we are able to move forward with the projects on our plate.

Larry Chamblee and Ken Andrews are now playing the lead role in the CUP (or non CUP) process. I will remain keenly interested in progress. Robert Fedor the permit expeditor is busy working for our benefit and I expect that he will be able to move the CUP project forward as long as he remains unencumbered.

So thank you to everyone again and I will continue to work hard for the club.

Yeaaaaaa!

As with all the board members, we're lucky to have you. As I have said before, what you guys do is an gift to the rest of us.

In my view, it's not fair to expect a lot from a purely voluntary board, and I'm not at all disappointed in the results. It does sound from an outsiders point of view that the primary obstacles to progress are the time available from volunteers, and getting to agreement on issues of action or expenditures. I would like to see quicker action by the whole club with less demands on the board. For that we need just 2 things:

1) Broader volunteering by the membership

2) Quicker agreement and decision by the board. The goal is to agree on stuff even if the agreement is to do nothing, then next item.

On #1: I'm personally going to start on some of "Ken's first 15". This needs updated since I think some are already finished.

On #2: Good luck you compromising, agreeable bunch.

And again sincerely, thank you all for you time and effort.
