Beach Party Sep 20th

Post by kyardley »

Come on down to Dockweiler State Beach for the 3rd Annual Beach Party! There will be sun and fun, sand and sandwiches, games and shenanigans at this light-hearted day of flying. Bring your bathing suit, bicycle, roller skates or whatever and let's give summer a great sendoff.

Katherine Yardley is heading up the event and a couple of volunteers would be welcome. We need:
1. Sandwich pick-up at local Subway shop.
2. A couple big coolers for sodas
3. Glider set-up and break-down technicians.
4. Game and scoring helpers.

Katherine's cell 818 / 416 - 0136 if you need more info.

Beach Party Plans

Post by kyardley »

Sleep in on Saturday. The Beach Party won't get started till 1pm or so.

The very casual schedule is
- Set-up noon onward
- Fun beach soaring anytime
- Games as folks show up
- Picnic around 4 featuring sub sandwiches, salads and drinks

Bring your own chairs and sunscreen. Let's have a carefree day!

Thanks to everyone who contributed to making the beach party a success! Extra kudos to Katherine for organizing the event!

I had a great time - I even mustered up the courage to go down the bunny hill in a glider - it had been a long time but it felt good! :D

Once again - THANKS!!!!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm............around 4 huh?

I got there about 15 minutes before 4 and there wasn't any sandwiches to be seen. Found out from someone else that they were actually available much earlier.
(couldn't get there any earlier, due to obligations)

bummer.

Another well-coordinated event for the SHGA. Thanks to all those who contributed!

Hopefully we'll have soarable conditions next year.
