3,846' to 5,647' between Trash and Kagel yesterday. Note: the circles were down to 110' in diameter and 7.5 seconds per revolution. It was that kind of day near Kagel. Good for hawks and R/C sailplanes and jellyfish.

pretty cool but my computer's running to slow to see it smoothly. I'll run it on my Macbook Pro and see if it runs better.
I like the mix of graphics and video.
It looks to me like your ascent rate on the downwind portion of each turn is about the same as on the upwind portion. Is it?

It looks like he's 'stitched' together some stills to make a movie. I won't be 'smooth'.

Hi Joe,
My ascent rate was evenly distributed between up and down wind. I watch the breadcrumb trail on my GPS along with my vario, when I work lift like this. For me, it's too easy to get spit out the side and have to hunt around to find it again, which I had to do on several other thermals that day.

ABinder is correct, in that the video was taken using the time lapse recording feature on my camera which allows me to record 2 hours of one frame per second at 640x480 in good resolution.
