Janyce, aren't you banned for life from flying on Thanksgiving Day? The "Cold Turkey act of 2007" is still the law in Elsinore.

I have sent an email to the contact person for questions regarding the Turkey Meet to find out what the current recommendations/requirements are in place for flying in Elsinore.
I was specifically looking for information regarding the ability for Hang 2's like myself to be able to fly at the Turkey Meet.
I will be sharing the information I gather with Joe Greblo to see if we may want to set-up a group trip to the Elsinore Turkey Meet.
Hope to see lots of SHGA Pilots there to support another historic site.

I haven't gotten an email from you, but I'll answer you question anyway. If you can lineup on the wash ok at Sylmar then you'll probably be OK at the Marina. There are however a number opf larger fields nearby that can be used as well. I saw in a news article that the City is trying to get us into the field on the corner of Grand Ave. That field is quite large and open anytime with no day use fee. The Marina West Mangement says $10 per car with a max of 3 people per car. I'm not sure how much for extra people. Anyway we have hand blown glass trophies this year. The bad news is that they figured out they didn't charge the club enough for the passes and has canceled them.

Hey John. I sent a message to this address: jkelect@hotmail.com. Not sure what happened.

I can't speak for all of the hang 2's but most of them have 10 to 30 hours of airtime and most of that from Kagel to the Sylmar LZ. A group of us have recently done a trip to Big Sur and Cayucos with Joe Greblo and a few of us have also flown other local sites such as Marshal/Crestline, Ave S, etc. and are interested in flying and supporting Elsinore.

I will share your comments with Joe Greblo and see if we can have a good showing in Elsinore. Are there directions online to the Turkey Meet location?

Thanks,
Bill
