I was proposing running the glider storage system on an old server I obtained. Payments would be made online with either Visa, paypal, bank transfer, or as a last resort by check. Renewal notices would be sent automatically by email and actual postal mail as a last resort with extreme past due amounts. The waiting list would be held online.
Board members could log in to view or get regular automatic email status updates. The money saved from this system could be used to irrigate a substantial part of the landing field.
Paypal and Visa charge a small fee to the seller. It might be possible to lease part of the Windsports online Visa to cut costs. The club could earn interest on the money deposited directly into the club account that is now held 30 days for deposit.

I would really like to see your analysis of the cost savings!
I will admit that I know little of the actual costs - but I can only think postage stamps, envelopes, maybe paper. This is for about 78 individuals? So the cost might be about $1 per tube per year or let's just say $100.
From that savings you deduct Paypal's fees of approx. 3%. If the maximum annual gross fee income from the storage containers is $17,760 ($200 @ 42 + $260 @ 36) - then the Paypal fees could be as high as $532.

Automating the billing will not get rid of all of the management fees. Who goes after deadbeats? Who resolves conflicts? This is all done now by a person. Will the computer do it? I don't think so. There are other issues as well. The manager does do things that a computer cannot do.
Unless we have real numbers that include the above we have no idea if this will save money or not.
