Another Sylmar fire

Your glider may need you Sunday
On Friday night, Mike Hayden, Jim Heaton, Jim Mercandante, Darryl Weaver, Erwin, and myself moved every glider out of the Windsports garage and backyard and put them in the Kagel L/Z to escape the fire that again threatened the homes to the west. Mike Hayden and I then spent the night putting out wind blown embers that were hitting the roofs of the houses, the LZ, and Dino's triangle. Wind over night reached more than 50 miles per hor. We feel fairly good about the fire not returning Saturday night, but I decided to keep the gliders in the LZ until Sunday. We have dozens of gliders that will need to be identified and returned to storage on Sunday and I'll need the help of the glider owners. If you have a glider stored at Windsports, please come by on Sunday morning around 10 am and identify it and help get it back where it belongs.
