Not all that great in the way of flying. The comp was eventually called due to winds that were too east. The SB boys and I went to the "back of the rack" on top of the SB ridge top between the Thermal Factory and Monticito Peak.
The wind was blowing but not too gusty so launching wasn't all that much of a problem. Down at the eliminator the SE direction was more of an issue (why we decided to go higher).
In the end none of the flexies were able to make the course. I think most of us opted for the beach landing instead of blackening your glider at parma (even though grass has begun to grow). I didn't really see many bags flying as it was possibly too bumpy for them. The plan is to hold the meet again next week. Anybody game? I'll be going again
Nice photos, Chip. Glad to see some good results from your CHDK driven SD870-IS.
For those who don't know about this nifty feature: Most Canon point and shoot digital cameras can be run from little program loaded on the memory card. Chip and I have been fooling around with this for a few weeks now. Anyone who is interested can learn more here: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK Chip and I both use the Canon SD870-IS. I own several of these bad boys that I bought second-hand off of Craigslist for cheap. I have already had a $300 camera fall off my glider at 8,000' so I don't want to put too much money at risk for the sake of my vanity.
