Can anyone recommend a good welder to create a rack for the nose of my International? Thanks in advance for any help.
Steve Murillo
John Heiney will do it if you can get down to San Marcos (next to Escondido). http://www.johnheiney.com/glider_racks/rack_service.htm
I've heard great things about his fabrication quality and have talked to him about putting one on my Matrix. I just haven't yet commited to it yet but probably will here soon.

Talk to Greblo.
There are alot of welding shops on San Fernando Road across from Whiteman Airport. Probably not your "high end" type operations but certainly functional.
Also, as you probably have seen, there are a couple of vehicles in the LZ that have pretty clean/professional looking rack set-ups. I believe that the owner's of these vehicles may have done the job themselves. Maybe they would be willing to make something for you - might be a little more expensive than San Fernando Road shops - but in today's economy they may be interested in the extra income.
