Hurricane this year?
Hey all,
Are there plans for another July 4th Hurricane trip this year? I know last year was a little smaller of a group, in fact I missed it myself. With gas prices down, the trip for me from Houston is affordable by car.

Hurricane 2009
Kathy Moacanin and I organized the trip last year. This year it might be me alone but that's no worries if I can get started early. I'd love to hear from anyone who's thinking about going so I can put our Kanarraville campground on alert. The rest will be up to us. Let me hear from you.
Susko, I'll put you down for a possible one pilot. It'll be good to see you, dude.

These pilots have expressed interest:
Ken Andrews
Dave Susko
Lynn McLaughlin & Bruce Kovac
Katherine Yardley
Ivan (I'll have to look up last name)
Chad and Andrea Margolin (July 4th now OK with them)
So far, July 4th weekend seems to be the date. Timeframe is flexible so I'll ask for campsites at Red Ledge Campground in Kanarraville UT beginning Thurs 7/2 thru Mon 7/6 and we can fine-tune that as we know more.
Let's talk this up and make it a party!

The weather around here is getting me more interested in going out there again myself. Count Nurit and I as likely to go.

My participation in the Hurricane trip is part of a longer trip to Southern California. I'll be in Southern California before and after the trip, so I am available for ride sharing, either with my car or someone else's. I can take two other people (especially if one is a driver) before my jeep starts getting cramped.

Hurricane and beyond
I love Yosemite and always want to go on the club's trip up there. At first I didn't know about which trip I would take this year, Utah or Yosemite but then I got the idea of making one big trip out of them. I'm planning on flying Hurricane, then visiting Antelope canyon (hopefully flying to it.)

and maybe The Wave http://www.latimes.com/travel/la-trw-ou ... ry?index=2 I've also wanted to fly Echo Cliffs ever since I saw those photos by Rik Fritz years ago. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iSmUiJy5Ofk/S ... G_4083.jpg
Heading north out of Cedar, see if I can find and fly Frisco peak, a place I've heard stories about, a great XC site with a dry lake at the base. http://www.willhiteweb.com/index_153.htm Then go through Great Basin Nat'l Park, then through either Reno or Tonapah, maybe the Owens, then on to Yosemite for the next weekend.
Just thought I would throw the idea out in case anyone else wants to do the same.

Hello all, I live here in St George and fly PG and PPG. I thought you might like to know of some other Utah flying sites. Many of these sites have only been flow over the last 2 years. Link

Utah sites
Nice web pages with lots of info, winddriven. I'm afraid I won't have the time and my wife certainly will not have the patience to chase me around to try them all. I do hope to make it to Frisco Pk though. I remember reading David Taylor's (I think) accounts and pictures of long flights from there, but I haven't been able to find them on the web anymore. Wish I could.
