Curious, back up higher (where there's some figure 8 tracks from an ATV and two big trees), is there room to land crossslope?
Thanks, Eric. I seem to recall you suggesting that we walk this ravine during our initial Falcon league walks. The homeowner owner who allowed me to jump his back fence and walk in and out through his gate told me that I was not the firest person to land there. He said the last pilot hadn't flown in 16 years and landed there deliberately because that was where he used to land before all the development. He told me that the pilot landed and walked up to his home and seemed rather disoriented. He then said with chagrin, "None of this was here the last time I flew."
Anyhow, there is a gate to this land that's padlocked. I think access may be controlled by Santiago Estates and that we may have to seek permission to use it intentionally.
The slope is 9:1 as shown on a topo map and there is enough room to land cross slope or pull a 180 and land up. Didn't we recently discuss adding top landings to the Falcon league tasks? That of course would encompass uphill landings. Lots of RLF skills to be learned.
