Work Crew Needed... Rome in charge

Post by JT »

Rome, rather than spend your valuable retirement sniping at George, I have a useful project for you that is right up your alley. You are so interestd in the storage bins, I thought you would really like to make sure the ones in use stay fit. They are beginning to rust and need to be sanded and painted. I think you should lead this project. You don't actually have to do any physical work... well maybe type a few understandable words. While you're at it, you might ask around or take a poll on what color to use. Something that blends with the terrain would be great for our Santiago Estates neighbors. Maybe you can get Dana to ask their opinion. Take this as a way to actually do a service for your fellow members who are subsidizing your free, lifetime status.

When Rome fails to do anything about this item, one of you who would actually do domething might want to talk to a board member about this important upkeep. The club will reimburse for the paint and other materials.

So, not too many hits on this topic. I think the title may have frightened members away. I just don't know if it was the word "Work" or "Rome" that silenced you all.

Is anyone interested in maintaining the container investment? Or should the BOD just pay a professional paint outfit to get it done?

I gave the camo net away due to lack of response or interest. One can buy them at any Army surplus for a reasonable amount.

Rome, no one expects you to do it all; just do something! And, yes, green camoflage for paint may be a good idea. Ask everyone at the meeting. Too bad you missed your chance at the camo-netting Jesse had for shade during construction.

Green is good. It would blend better. I would suggest not too dark, though. Lighter is better in terms of temperature inside the boxes. But since I'm not running the project, whatever gets picked will be fine by me. :-)

I did some rust removal and rustoleum (unfortunately the wrong color)about a year ago. The minimal research I've done on the problem divulged that the storage bins started their career at sea. They are rusted from the inside out and we will never be able to get rid of the (doggone) rust.

So Rome - tell me ... When you say ALL I CAN DO NOW IS PUSH BUTTONS - do you mean that in the literal sense - pushing buttons/keys on a computer, OR, do you mean that in a figurative sense - as in pushing George's, Greblo's, or JT's buttons??? :?
