You are absolutely correct, Rome. I spoke to the same member, confirmed the price as $2000 and the size is what the club would need, if it chooses to add the third container. I also calculated 36 tubes at $250 each (last time I priced them was when gas was $4) and that comes to another $9000. I don't know what the metal for racks, doors and other hardware might cost but I'd guess another $1000 would take care of it.

Total= $12,000.

I expect you will bring this up at the meeting tomorrow or later, in person, to the next Board meeting. Ask Ken to put it on the agenda. I also expect you will be in charge of this project, if it is approved. In that case, please expedite completion so we can add the new revenue to the pavilion project. You really need to get this done for us.

By the way, another coat of paint on the existing containers would be a good idea before the access is lost with the container in between.

CSS just got another container for about $5,733 delivered and another grand or so for shelves.

here's the fun part, like the first, it's insulated like the other and really holds against the heat well.

Configured for 64 wings. Big difference is, we have the walk in variety and not individually lockable tubes. Downside is risk, upside is I gots me a whole shelf for two wings for a good price.

Ask Owen M. for details on purchase, rebar dan on shelving config (realistically probably not quite that good, hinges on perfect matchup of DS/SS/ATOS).

I notice that your posts don't have your full name either. (Of course, now that I think about it neither do mine.) I also like to know who I'm "talking" to, so I understand your annoyance. But the fact is, that a large percentage of people online like to use online names (handles is what the CBers call them.) You know, like "Dead-Eye"! Kind of annoying when you want to know who you're dealing with and don't recognize the nickname, initials or whatever, but that's the way it is. Usually, if you ask, they'll tell you. Politeness works wonders. Sometimes.

Has anyone actually seen this $2k box? What shape is it in? How old is it? How well is it painted? Does it have vents? You get the idea. In theory, the one we got from Don years ago was a good deal too. We learned otherwise, to our financial chagrin. I'd love it if it really was this cheap. But until we've actually checked it out physically, I will reserve judgment.

And note that the price all-up is now $12k, even with members doing all the work! A far cry from what Rome originally mentioned. Unless we do the "I trust my neighbors" version without tubes. But maybe that's what Rome was talking about. My glider won't go in such, that's for sure. Not where our LZ is. Crestline's a different issue, perhaps. They're not quite in town like we are.
