O look, they've choreographed an entire air dance that very few people would have the balls or skills to even attempt![/youtube]

"Synchronized Spinning" looks a bit dangerous. If someone gets tangled in one of those lines... they are going to rely on a deployment; the water doesn't really cushion much.

i think you might be missing the entire philosophical stance behind acro/aerobatics!

anyone with sufficient skill to have put years into aerobatics is acutely aware of the danger and risk. Because of their continued striving to achieve a beauty outside of the "Placarded Operating Limitations" to which the rest of us cling, they've elevated an aspect of a recreational sport into an art form.

appears to me like that PG acro stuff is:
1. Not fun to do. I bet you get dizzy.
2. Not that fun to watch. The entire: "he is spinning right, oh now he is spinning left...wow." Only gets interesting when doing a boring move in proximity to another glider.
3. Dangerous.

There is another human endeavor that meets similar criteria. The teenage phenomenon "ghost riding," is where the driver gets out of a moving car to ride the top or along side of it. Looks stupid, and is Dangerous.

That gentleman is beyond the "Placarded Operating Limitations." Even understanding the entire philosophical stance behind ghost riding and honing the necessary skill which both elevates it to an art form and makes one aware of the risks... It is still just stupid.
