I'm currently in Chicago for the next 2.5 weeks. We had 2 rental cars for 8 people. Some of them wanted to stay at the hotel yet needed to keep the car, some wanted to see a baseball game. I woke up at 5am, took trains and taxis until I made it to the first 24 hour car rental store. Around 100 miles later, I was at a tow park. I should have my tow sign off complete by tomorrow.
Turn the volume off. I got a ride on the tug, show below. And three tows up, not shown. Towing is... a different game. They call any foot launch a "cliff launch", yet this entire tow business seems to be more difficult than what we do.

They have good facilities. Nice big beautiful field cut like the "Feild of Dreams" movie into the corn, pond for swimming/fishing, camping. They rent falcons and gear, plus quality tow instruction at reasonable rates. Additional the people are friendly.
One down side: During PPG "Fly-Ins" this place is infested with powered paragliders (PPG) during the twilight hours (both dawn and dusk). I can't imagine anything more pointless than PPGing. Noisy and slow. However they wont fly if there is any wind or a chance of thermal activity, so they disappear during the day. I really can't figure it out, most of them just fly back and forth over the runway and don't venture anywhere. It makes for really crowded airspace filled with people who don't look where they are going, and have spinning blades strapped to their backs. This is all happening while there is a gigantic ocean of air; nothing but corn and soy fields all the way to the horizon. There must have been 25 of them all at once buzzing back and forth 50 feet over the runway as I was doing areo tow in the twilight glass. Kinda scary.
