The Gate Lock

Post by gregangsten »

Using that "temporary" gate lock is such a pleasure after the previous monstrosity. Even that one was broken anyway. Why not just use the one that is in there now "permanently" which means, of course, until someone breaks it off. It is so much easier to use and it will make it much easier on our drivers. Besides it is cheaper to replace. How much would it add up to in a year? Not enough to sweat about, I think.

Gate Lock

Post by Fat Fred »

The Squire lock was not actually broken and was not compromised. The only thing broken was the knob and it was still able to be opened by us with the correct combination. I have repaired it and it is ready to be reinstalled. The problem with the cheaper locks is that can be compromised and let unsavory parties have access to the road which can result in more vandalism to our windsock. Without a way to keep unpermitted vehicles off of the road we could possibly lose access for ourselves. I would personally rather deal with the Squire lock to help keep our site available and less chance of vandalism. The drivers understandably do not like the more complicated lock but it does do the job.
