I've been hard at work attempting to get the forum updated and have achieved a lot in the regard. Upgrading the forum is actually the easy part (for me at least), but that's where the relative ease ends.

You see, the web site and the forum are used in conjuction with each other. You cannot just upgrade the forum without effecting the other. This is where I've spent a lot of the last couple of weeks attempting to achieve all of this behind the scenes trying to make it as seamless as possible.

I think I have most of that accomplished but because of changes to the way the forum works, the members only section only works if you login to the new forum at least once. After logging into the new updated forum, the members only section of the web site is re-enabled for the user.

Why am I telling you this?
Well I'd like anyone reading this to try out the updated site and forum by following this link. Please attempt to do the following tasks:

Go to the test site from there, find the forum link on the left side of the navigation bar and go to the forum and login.

Post anything you like.
Verify your posts are in tact.
If you had any private messages saved, make sure they are still there. I know there is an issue with you tube video's. To fix them you only need to edit the post and only preview and then submit the "changes". There are actually no changes that need to be made other than previewing the post and resumitting the post (sorry, not well supported in the conversion).

After logging into the forum, attempt to login to the members only section of the test shga site (you should be able to do that).

As long as you have logged into the forum and NOT closed your browser, you should be able to view user profiles from the members photo area.

If you are an admin of the web site, those functions should be working as well. So if you have those permissions, you should try them.

Pay attention to the overall speed and the stability of the test site. Since it is hosted on my server here, I'd like to know how it is performing.

Let me know if you find any issues. Also post any comments here. If there is something you think we need then suggest it.

If all goes well, I hope we can implement sometime soon, but there is work to do with the provider.

So I see that some of you have logged into the test forum, thanks for that. I had to take down a portion of the site because there are some new considerations I have to make to the design (NO ODBC allowed, for those of you that know about some of the details).

Because we're moving or desire to move from MS Access to MySQL databses, some of the functioanlity needs to be re-written.

The test site and the forum will go through a few iterations of being up and down. I believe in the end I'll get it correct, but it looks like it's going to take me a little longer.
