OP's new prosumer 6,800 video rig{It's all about the optics}

After dropping 6,800 pennies on a less than serious point and shoot I am disappointed. I thought that these things at 10 megapixels would do the trick and be expendable if damaged.

The images are terrible. It's slow to turn on. Has nearly zero features. Worst point and shoot ever. Even for 68$ (no tax, no shipping) I want my money back.

yep. about one year+ ago I bought a Nikon Coolpix S3000 because it was small, could do video, came with a case, and mostly, cheap (less than $100 i think).

it takes somewhat crappy pictures, but the video seems OK if only used for insets on top of HD video as in:

The GoPros are too wide angle, so I'm still looking for something else.

Anyway, thanks for posting some footage from Sunday. Seems it is the best anybody got on that day (I forgot my GoPro).
