Oh crap, did that dude survive that in the first video?

I love the land anywhere and backpack nature of PG, but the way they collapse makes me feel like I wouldn't be in charge of my own survival. I can make a mistake in HG of course, but it looks like in PG that your wing just has to be mad at you that day and poof: sudden divorce.

Self induced frontal? Novice? advanced wing? Hill upwind with a rotor?
I'm sure an experienced paraglider pilot could see what went wrong.
