$25K for pavilion construction

Post by rsherwoo »

I saw this note on the web site:
A huge shout of thanks goes to Councilman Alarcon for pledging $25K towards the pavilion construction!

Great news! What are the details of this?

It does bring up an interesting issue on how the club deals with and rewards large donations.

Perhaps its should be called the "Alarcon Pavilion".
If large donors in Hang Gliding are rewarded then the act may occur again and again.

Any way it gave me a chance to remember "Back to School" with Rodney Dangerfield "1986" and the Donation scene "Mellon School of Business Administration", "It was a really big check, I don't think the Dr. understands the actual amounts that are involved here"

If you strongly disagree, maybe we can name the restroom after him?

WHO'S MONEY ????

While $25K is nice - I highly doubt it was his money. I suspect it is the tax payer's money he is giving us! A HUGE difference!

Yes, a fine name:

Taxpayer Pavilion

They pay to build the most things, yet I have never seen one named for them.

Suckers.

I'm an unfortunate member of the 53% Club!

For those that are clueless - that means I pay Federal Income Tax! :?

It is very cool of Alarcon to make this happen. I don't know how he was informed of the need, but someone deserves some credit for that. Lord knows we need the money, and I think the club is overwhelmingly a force of good in the community that raises the image, property values and economic activity. I know that I alone support at least one ice cream truck, and I bet the LZ has a push pin on a map in the board room at Budweiser, Inc.
