Sylmar Hang Gliding Association

Last weekend a few of us went searching for a pilot we thought might have landed at BigT. Where we used to park across from the ball diamond is blocked off with rocks. There are also multiple “private property no trespassing� signs. The ball park is gated closed. We pulled off the right side of the road near a house with horse corrals just south of there. I was confronted by a man who owns the property. He was annoyed with the people who use his land but leave all manner of trash behind. I sympathized with him and explained we only land there unwillingly in an “emergency� situation. We also pack out everything we bring in. He said we are cool and likes seeing us fly the mountain. He requested that we not park along side the road because that encourages others to do the same. He pointed out some cars up the road that were, in fact, doing just that. He offered to let us park in his drive way instead. I doubt that he has any “rights� to he easement alongside the road, but it would be neighborly to comply with his request.
