Some characteristics unique to the Semi-Rigid Deployable Wing (SDW) include the following:
Nominal glide ratios of six to one with cruise speed of 60 knots
Maneuverability similar to rigid wing aircraft
High wing loading (less than seven pounds per square foot) and wind penetration at up to 60 knots
When coupled with an integrated guidance, navigation and control system and linked to the global positioning system (GPS), SDW technology can provide high offset airdrop with a precision delivery capability.
