We are going to be conducting a grooming party on Saturday, the 28th of June (last Saturday of the month). Our primary purpose is to correct any twists or other irregularities in the existing launch. However, the saddle needs help too, so some of you may want to be on that crew.
Bring shovels, picks, hand trowels, heavy rakes, weed whackers, trash bags, anything you can think of. Someone bring some chain in case we need to pull a stump or two. Joe G. will be on-site with the bulldozer.

Grooming Party!
Grooming party sounds safe. It's the total reconstruction party we need to worry about. Shortly after the first reconstruction party, we had more than our fare share of blown launches.
A poll had pilots pointing out their indifferences. They ranged from right wings lifting, wind's wrapping around lifting up the back, feeling of being sucked towards the front of the ramp. These along with other unknown issues may have contributed to pilots not thinking straight.
The times I flew the ramp after the reconstruction made it clear to me that it was not the same animal before the reconstruction.
If it is only grooming…. it's always a good thing, but if there is any major reconstruction let's not use pilots as test subjects.
Then we can all safely hold our peace.

The main purpose of the work is to make a small modification to the ramp by smoothing out the edge or peak of the ramp to make it slightly flatter at the top with less of an edge. It is hoped that this will make it easier for a nosewire person to stand where the glider is forward enough to be in the main airflow.
