0pps/ Yosemite

Post by vannoppen »

I just put a message on the hire a pilot page. Oopps Does one need a driver to do the Yosemite trip? Does anyone have room on there truck? Does anyone need a ride? I know camping is first come. Who is going? Does anyong want to go rock climbing w/ experience during the day after flying. easy as I am out of shape. Nutcracker or equivalent. As I said Snake Dike would be awesome but the hike up alone would probably kill me, maybe I shoiuld stick to drinking and floating/aka rafting. Please advise on logistics. Anyone interested in leaving a day early and trying to get a day in the Owens I think Im being overly ambitious and Ive been tpld that the Owens in July is ?able at best .

You can see who is signed up to fly by checking the Yosemite HG web page
http://yhga.org/

Extra drivers there are always a good thing but we generally don't have problems getting the trucks down to the valley. Just get to the Bridalveil Creek Campground, check with sites that already have a glider parked there to see what's been grabbed and where you might settle in. The earlier you get there, the better, and if you get there a day early and can grab a couple of spots, do it and make life easier for the later arrivals.

Peep this for river conditions. There is water, but it's less than 2 feet deep and flowing at 1/3rd the median for this time of year.

vannoppen,

if you are looking for an owens trip some of my flying buddies from berkeley will be there this friday through sunday. I will likely not as I did something (non-hg related) to my neck and have about 25% range of motion on my neck right now which doesn't seem conducive to flying, but I believe they currently have a driver and are leaving tonight to lone line.
