LAUNCH FOR SALE!

Post by Jim »

in case you haven't heard, the 515 acres from the area in front of the dam up to and including a good part of the launch are now up for sale as a "development opportunity... great views of the canyon and valley." Anyone have a friend with $9M to donate?

Isn't this Don Sakaida's property that was going to be strip mined? http://www.dailynews.com/20120101/plann ... -hostility
Looks like he's going for the gold on his investment one way or another.

By the looks of it that parcel doesn't have easy road access so there are much easier parcels to develop, which helps us unless the buyer also acquires adjacent parcels. Any development would take time but I still think we should do what we can to preserve our access and rights to launch. My fear has always been that given that this is private land we can lose all rights at the whim of the owner. I'm in real estate (not development) but am happy to help the club on this where I can.
