Thursday is the first Board meeting with our beloved newly elected officials and we may see drastic changes after just one meeting.
Gazebo: My only issue is in the long run where should it go if we add a storage container or a restroom.
Observation deck: Great idea but I would like to see a pre constructed unit because of a fatal mishap from a failed hand rail at a previous client of mine. Some examples of a prefab scaffold:

He mentions putting in a permanent restroom. Larry mentioned it would cost $10,000 to run the pipe to the street. We could construct a building or a high-end portable trailer.
My view about this is every civilization: Greek, Aztec, Roman, Byzantine, even the English, were stifled and didn’t enter their golden age until they added aqueduct and sewer. Some of the single pilots would like to attract a girlfriend. Good luck while making them go into a 55 gallon drum of dung. To all the married pilots: How happy would you be if you replaced your in-house plumbing with a construction site porta-pot?
Would you ever have landed your spouse without the benefits of running water? Also when we invite the politicians, community and their families to our site we will present ourselves as a high class operation. We can hire someone for the upkeep.
Appointing directors at large:
There is a faction that would like to appoint two of last years’ non-reelected but hard working directors back into the board. My concern is their voting history on rejected projects. Aren’t these the members that voted down all the projects that frustrated Ken Andrews so we never got anything done? Can’t we modernize the bill paying by putting all bills on autopay on our bank account or credit card? I have. Who pays bills any more?
Those two members in question have made substantial contributions to the operation of the club. If they are appointed I say make their official start date some time in March, after all the projects have been approved.
DSL: For $20 a month lets run DSL into the LZ, we have a phone line already.
Project Approval: We could speed up and streamline the approval process for projects by issuing “Purchase order not to exceed� or similar. Also we can let some of the details be ironed out later
Initiation fee: Drop it or use it as a new SHGA member’s instructor’s bonus.
We also welcome Larry into the pro expantionist agenda.

Permanent Bathroom
I'll never be in favor of a permanent bathroom facilities. I couldn't care less that people have "issues" with using a facility provided for them. These same people likely have no problem using the "facilities" at launch.
Don't see it as a real problem .............
DSL for the LZ. is it needed yet? Right now we have internet (thanks to WindSports). I think once we get that camera up we'll want to look into it. Right now it looks like we have something good enough.

Problems with Expansion
Just to reiterate the problems faced in placing permanent structures.
The SIBL complex can get permits; they hold a Conditional Use permit. To get that, they had to agree to some restrictions, mainly that they had to place their entrance on Harding street and no alcohol permitted. '

And I hear it's expensive and the community in the area is asked to comment, complain and review the conditions of the permit. If it isn't granted, I don't know where that puts us. I don't think we're ready to go down this road for the pleasure of spending $10k to pee in a flush toilet.
We'll be lucky if we can get someting done with the gazebo without getting caught.
And I suggest that if anyone has a problem with officers' voting, go to the meeting and tell them how you feel before the vote is taken. The meetings are open and I've always found the BOD welcomes member-participants. See for yourself what goes on: it's admirable and apalling at the same time.
