Since the Gazebo has started to fall off the radar screen, I guess I will step forward on this one and see if all you talkers out there really have the cojones to move on this. I do. By summer.
What I want:
1) Gazebo
At least two (OK) or three (better) proposals for replacing the gazebo completely. They must include sketches, a list of materials and a realistic estimate of costs. You must identify whether this is a project to e built solely by club members or if there are to be outside contractors and include their bids separartely.
2) Enclosing the storage bin area
At least two proposals to include a pitched roof with a means of drainage away from the bins and specific plans for ventilation, electrical and finish.
And costs. I heard you are getting a head start on this Merc?
3) BOD
How much the club has to spend on these two projects. Real numbers, please.
4) Location
Anyone who has ideas for a change of location or any other enhancements speak up now.

I expect to hear from all you construction types and anyone else who has at least half a brain and some interest in adding something special to the LZ.

Next Steps
After having read all of the discussion about the Gazebo, I have come to this conclusion:
1. The gazebo is not about to fall down, nevertheless I believe it should be replaced.
2. We should not put a temporary structure between the 2 storage sheds. Our efforts should be concentrated on the gazebo.
3. It is difficult to put a budget on anything unless you know the scope of work. To narrow that scope I am suggesting that we replace the gazebo with another similar open air structure. An enclosed club room doesn't make sense for a number or reasons. The fact that no one would clean it up and it would become a mess is just one. The question therefore is limited to size and the included features.
4. I really like the Wisteria. It will grow back.
5. The gazebo should be enhanced to better suit its purpose. What is the purpose of the gazebo? We all sit there from time to time, yet as Vresh pointed out the seating is uncomfortable. It would be great to have a structure that fit how we wanted to use it. I would like to narrow the discussion to include the features that we want in the gazebo. How do we currently use the gazebo, what would we like added?
6. We don't need another poll or further discussion, we need an action committee to move the project forward. I am therefore asking for a group of 3 people to take this project on.
