Sylmar Hang Gliding Association

As I'm getting closer to the time I solo. I keep thinking ahead of all the different places I can visit and fly at. One of the places that I'm hoping to fly at is Brazil. Joe tells me its a great place to fly. However, as inexperienced as I am. I'm not sure when I would be experienced enough to go and fly abroad. I'm open to suggestions as to when a a fledgling pilot such as myself would be proficient enough to even go abroad. I would think I would need at least a years worth of experience before I would be considered safe to fly out of the country.

Should there be requirements met before going abroad to fly?
What should be the minimum experience required?
Should there be a sign off requirement?

I wouldn't venture to suggest knowing when you should and shouldn't go abroad to fly. However, one thing you should do is check the requirements in the country you plan on going to. Most have some sort of rating system, and you'd need to verify what THEY require. This is especially true in Europe and Australia. I don't have any idea about Brazil.
