Every so often it's helpful to review our club's Forest Service permit requirements for the Tower's Launch. Historically our main concerns are centered around the understanding that our permit requires us to operate without flying in or above the 1/2 mile wide corridor (canyon) just south the Camp 9 Heliport facility on the ridge top as shown in the photo.
Launching from the Towers Launch site is permitted for Advanced rated club members, and transitioning through the red outlined canyon to the west is allowable, providing its done as quickly as possible without stopping to circle.
