Desert Road Trip - Sunday 9/16

Post by Don »

Exact destination is not known at this time - the final decision will be made Sunday morning in the LZ at 7 AM.

The most talked about location is Garlock but Blackhawk and ORD is being considered.

We have two vehicles and two drivers (Kathy Shaw and BJ Strand).

This is a H3 & H4 trip - any H2s would need prior approval of your instructor.

First come, First Served.

RSVP to me.

Paraglider Pilot

Post by Don »

I received an email from a Paraglider pilot wanting to join in the desert trip - unfortunately I deleted the message before I could reply.

Sorry to inform you but this trip is restricted to HGs.

I hope you get this message before Sunday morning.

I'll be there on Sunday. I'll have my reliable, noisy old SUV. With room for 3 pilots and 2 or 3 gliders. It's a real mule when it comes to retrieving pilots from deep wilderness. It smashes bushes and climbs rocks.

After I land out I'll come and get you too.

Don't worry too much if you are far from a road, just set up a good landing, we'll do the rest.

News Flash: THE DESERT TRIP IS CANCELED DUE TO STRONG WESTERLIES.

Many of us are meeting at Crestline's LZ at 12;30 to fly there. 3 pilots are meeting at 10:00 at Kagel LZ.
