Scooter tow, Auto Tow

Post by addicted2climbing »

Hello all,

Sorta new here, and plan to join the club soon. For now all my money is going into training and buying gear, but once all the gear is bought then I can pay the club initiation. Ahyhow, upon poking around the net I see how other areas use the scooter tow method as well as auto tow. I am just curious if any of these methods ever get done at say El Mirage or the Palmdale/Neenach area where the room needed would not be much of an issue. Just curious?

Best regards,

Marc

Stay tight with your instructor, and use his methods rather than the independent cafeteria approach to learning. If you are with a good school (like Windsports) they will give you the best there is to offer in this area of coastal dunes and sunny mountains. It will give the the best airtime the fastest way with the least danger.

Later, when you are ready, aero-towing may happen in El Mirage for fun, not for training. With our mountains and lack of land in LA, there is no scooter towing and certainly no auto towing. The later scared the shit out of me, and was kinda pointless with aerotowing available.

PS: Join the club soon, as the fee is chump change compared to the investment in training and gear.
