We need volunteers:
1) Please come out a little early on Saturday (around 9am) and help us make the spots for our spot landing contest.
2) We need a few helpers to measure landings. It's best if we can do this in teams.
Reply here or contact me directly if you can assist.
Cheers!

Dahlsten Cup Needs Volunteers!

Dahlsten Cup on Saturday
OK, here's the scoop ......
Weather is looking like it will cooperate
, but we may get a few isolated instability showers in a few parts of the course (likely the higher terrain). So I think we can get the contest in. If things change then we'll likely have to postpone several weeks due to the Big Sur trip.
I'll have the pilot sign in ready around 8:30 - 9:00 so if you have questions about stuff it will be the best time to ask. After 9:30 I'll be busy with getting task comittee stuff accomplished.
Dahlsten Cup (Open) Flex wing gliders only. Pilots compete for the Dahlsten cup, race around predetermined course with lowest overall time winning. Possibly two start times, scoring accomplished by GPS track log. Pilots need the new waypoints that have been updated with altitude and may have been adjusted slightly from last spring. Pilots should also set their GPS to record/update as quickly as possible.
Sport Class (H3 & P3 pilots) Flexwing and paragliders compete in a race around a predetermined course (shorter than the open class). Idea of the sport class is to expose newer H3 pilots to the element of navigating a course using their GPS. Although topless gliders can enter this class it is normally reserved for kingposted gliders and paragliders.
Fun Class (high time H2 pilots) Flexwing and paragliders accumulate as many waypoints in the shortest time possible. Scoring is still accomplished by GPS but the time starts as soon as the pilot launches. We only had 2 or 3 pilots in this class last year but I know Terry and BJ said they had a blast.
Here's the schedule as I see it (weather cooperating)
8:30 - 9:00 Setup Pilot sign-in area and scoring table
9:30 - 11:00 Pilot sign in
11:30 Pilots meeting in LZ
12:30 Launch window opens
2:00 - 3:00 Task start for open and sport class
Comments? Questions? Post them here.
