During past national forest closures, the Crestline Soaring Society (CSS) has obtained approval from the Forest Service (USFS) to use several CSS members as USFS representatives to monitor and escort pilots to the Marshall launch. If the Angeles National Forest remains closed, should the SHGA pursue a similar arrangement with the USFS?
Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.

I haven't time, or I'd attempt it. BUT, this sounds like a perfect job for a H2 or H3 pilot who can communcate clearly without getting mad at the bureaucrats. After all, they are just doing their jobs.
Seriously, I think this would be a great thing for someone to get to work on. Just contact one of the BOD and then contact Foster. You can reply to him via the Forum. And the BOD can be reached via: bod@shga.org. Or you can call your favorite BOD member by looking up their number on the web site.
