Tales From the OZ Report (and elsewhere!)
I will be occasionally posting links to interesting stuff from the OZ Report here. (And the OZ Report Forum and maybe elsewhere.) Feel free to do the same, if you want, because I'll be doing what's interesting to ME and what I THINK will interest you. And I will do it at my pace... That is slow.

Slow week for interesting stuff. There is other stuff that didn't make me sit up and take note, but here is the one thing that I found to be of interest.

Yea, but will it filter out the deluge of stuff that is less interesting?Chip wrote:You know with RSS feeds we can automate much of this.
Seriously, I'm getting some hits, and if they just wanted the OZ report, they could go there. I assume they are looking to see what's up without looking at the whole shebang. Heck, if folks want to save me the work, that's great!
OH, and if someone wants a house in France just for Hang Glider pilots...

Oh I get it ...............
What's interesting according to George. Or should we change the forum topic then?
And what makes you believe people aren't going to the OzReport and elsewhere? Well where's the elsewhere? Nothing interesting going on anywhere but the OzReport? What about the CSS, the Santa Barbara Forum, or even the E Team?
Looks more like an advertisment for the OZREPORT.
Don't recall anyone asking you to "work" on this. Last I checked this was the Sylmar Forum.

What does this mean? You have stats? From what, the views list? Only totals, but tells you little about what people are really doing.George Stebbins wrote:Seriously, I'm getting some hits

Re: Tales From the OZ Report (and elsewhere!)
By the way, please note that the very first post on this topic said that I'd be posting what I THINK will interest you. It isn't as if you weren't warned.stebbins wrote:I will be occasionally posting links to interesting stuff from the OZ Report here. (And the OZ Report Forum and maybe elsewhere.) I have to agree with George on this one. Every person that joins the Forum can post, even non-members.
This is the same as porno - if you don't want to see the pictures, don't open the magazine. "Scratch and sniff"s included.
Besides, a usual George-critic mentioned to me that he thought the George-filter was working for him: he didn't have to go to another site and he didn't have to wade through the list.
And George doesn't have to be the only filter. Look at some of the stuff Janyce posted while the Santa Anas were blowing. I didn't hear any complaints. A double standard?
But George, please don't whine. I hate whining. You did say you could take it as well as dish it, nein?

Dish it out if you wish. Not a problem. But since I haven't gotten any feedback other than the "views" numbers and your single comment that the "George filter" works for one guy (who is normally a critic), and since I've gotten lots of folks complaining, I don't really see the point. I thought I was providing a (very small) service to a (small) number of folks. If I'm pissing off others, I see no reason to make the effort. I'm not upset or angry about not doing it any more. If I have issues with any person about their wording, I can and will contact them privately. Unless it gets too obnoxious, then I'll open up in public.JT wrote:......

And if you want to have another word, feel free. Folks think I want the last word, when I just have a huge willingness to keep talking and listening. Heck, I like it when folks talk to me, online or not. Usually. Mostly. Almost always.

Darn! I keep forgetting that. If I can keep in in my tiny brain that you are always right, can I call you up whenever I get confused? I'll just ask you all the difficult questions of life, night or day. That sounds like fun.JT wrote:Disagree? You and I never disagree, George. You simply fail to acknowledge that I'm always right.![]()
(Go ahead, swing away, George, swing away.)
Seriously, Jim, always nice to talk to you, even when we do disagree.

With the extreme remote possibilityof getting in the last word on this, I am admitting to be the "usual Geoge critic" that Jim mentions that happened to side with Geoge (to Jim) when it came to the Oz posts.
I actually culled through them and read one or two that did interest me and found it was easier than going throught this short list than the Oz Report itself, which I find way too cumbersome and therefore rarely bother.
So go for it George - restart if you can ignore the critics. It won't bother me at all. Those posts that don't interest me, I will continue to NOT read.
P.S. for Jim - thanks for protecting my annonimity but I thought that it was time I stood up and be counted on at least one.
