Yosemite

I just thought I would suggest to the monitors like Barton and Will, etc. that we plan a trip to Yosemite a little earlier this year, like before the river gets dry. It's great to be there when the waterfalls are full. I know the story about the meadow being marshy, but others seem to fly there a lot earlier than we usually do. Why not the end of June?

There is considerable more snow fall this year so late MAY be OK. However, I agree with Greg and this event will have better rafting in July than August.

Nah. He said he wanted to see you off. I guess he just likes to watch. ;-)

All kidding aside, Barton is right. The real issues are the Monitor meeting and the campground opening. While Wawona can work, it is a pretty poor campground in comparison, and significantly farther from launch. Oh, and it fills up very very fast.

Good luck to all who fly Yosemite. I will likely not be going on the club trip, but intend to sign up as site monitor for a weekend or two.
