SHGA Members Past and Present,
I am currently in Colorado Springs, CO. In a few hours I will attend the USHPA Awards dinner where SHGA will be presented the award for The Best Website of the Year! I will proudly accept this award on behalf of SHGA and want you all to know that our SHGA website committee included the most diligent group of volunteers any club could hope for! Those of us who watched the website come to life know that it was not an easy road at times. Each person on the committee remained committed to excellence and the result is a world-class website that addresses our site-specific needs, the greater needs of the sport and, it beautifully presents to the public the fact that Sylmar (really) is The Hang Gliding Capital of the Word!
Congratulations to Lisa Wendt, Chris Smith and George Stebbins (for the creation of the website) and many thanks to Ken Andrews and Jeff Chipman (for ongoing maintenance -- without which the site would crumble into oblivion) and to all the supporting, contributing members of SHGA!
