Thank you Greg, I'll keep that in mind.

But, there are over 1600, I mean 1700 views. Apparently it's not that offensive.

So what is the problem?

"It's not the arrow, it's the indian."

"What, me worry?"

"You're so vain... (You probably think this song is about you)"

"Condescension is the favorite tool of the arrogant"

"In matters of marriage: One can be happy, one can be right, one can't be both"

"It's always darkest right before it goes dark"

and my favorite.

"You're landing approach looked good until you ate shxx!"

People have written things that have nothing to do with hang gliding.

I received an email from a member of the board

"Please remember that the SHGA pilot forum is to discuss flying and
anything vaguely related to it. The forum is not a place to post
your obscene humor. Please refrain from such posts in the future."

Others have written obscene humor and Rob even liked it when we talked in the LZ. He thought it was the best one. I repeat! Others have written about things besides hang gliding related.

Lets be fare.

More than anything else the sensation is one of perfect peace mingled with an excitement that strains every nerve to the utmost, if you can conceive of such a combination.

SHGA members. I want to thank you for going into the "Sarcastic quotes and sayings".

This is "Sarcastic quotes and saying". A place that is exactly what it says.

I will not aim any quotes to any individual, but I will bring forth the quotes of famous people.

Peace!

For the record - I was somewhat amused when this thread first started, particularly when I was quoted. But since I am being quoted again, I must say that I am not amused, and cannot defend, some of the later posts, particularly those that have been deleted from page 4. These posts were purely sexual inunendo and have no place on this forum. It is not the "words" but how they are used. The fact that the word "shit" still appears on at least one of these posts does not make it obscene.

So let's keep the funny quotes/jokes flying related if we can, or at least clean.

I have one here:
What is the job of the propeller on a powered aircraft? Answer - it is to keep the pilot cool. If you don't believe me, just watch the sweat running down the pilot's face when it stops!

I wasn't trying to amuse you, I was using it as a reference. "Shxx" is still offensive to many, maybe not to you and even myself, but it is offensive in most locations.

I have no problems about my quotes being removed, but to say that "Shxx" is not offensive is a matter of opinion. I guess you know what is obscene and what isn't.

Hey! You can be right. I don't give a "Shxx!"

Something clean...hmmm!

All communities have a right to clean water. The taxpayers of Pueblo should not have to carry the burden of the clean up cost simply because they live down stream.

In 1978 I was a trainee Air Traffic Controller under supervision at Collage Station Texas, Easterwood Tower. This is a true story of a radio discussion one afternoon:

Unknown Aircraft: "Hello?.."
Easterwood Tower (me): "Please say again."
UA: "What?"
ET: "Who is this?"
UA: "This is Joe"
ET: "This is Easterwood Tower, where are you?"
UA: "I'm in the plane!"
(I looked down the flight line, checking if someone was sitting in a parked plane playing with the radio. I didn't see anything, and the senior controller was becoming more interested in my handling of the situation.)
ET: "Joe, where is the pilot?"
UA: "He got out when the engine quit.."
(I could only imagine a bizarre scenario in which the pilot had jumped from the plane.)
ET: "Joe, what does your airspeed indicator read?"
UA: (Long pause) "Zero?"
(So the plane was now in a stall I thought.)
ET: "Joe, whatever you have in front of you - a stick or a steering wheel - push it forward - you need to get airspeed over your wings!"
UA: "Are you sure?"
ET: "Yes Joe you need to push it forward... (pause)... What does your airspeed indicator read now?"
UA: "It's still zero."
(I thought, oh my god, Joe's plane was in a falling leaf spin. I couldn't help him. Joe was going to die. I did not know what to do. I looked to the senior controller. He said, "Ask him where his plane is.")
ET: "Joe, where is your plane?"
UA: "We are parked down at the end of the runway, the pilot got out when the engine quit and walked back to the hanger.."
ET: "Joe, get off the radio."
