The boom is a salvaged carbon transverse batten from Greg Angsten's old Talon. It's extremely stiff but having that 1 lb mass way off to the side make the keel stinger vibrate. I believe the cure is to make a symmetrical T shaped boom and have each side equally weighted.Chip wrote:Angle looks like it's bettter for stills, very shaky for the video. Landing that Sensor downhill (20:1 slope) in nil wind was a good test of its ease of landing. Today's nil-winder on the beach in Santa Barbara was very similar but not quite so long.
That's Matt Barker landing uphill into the catabatic wind after Dusty tagged the teeth on the chain-link fence with the seat of his PG harness then whacked.
