XC data needed for John Wayne Airport exhibit

Post by DavidAldrich »

Hello Guys

In case you were not aware, CSS pilot Owen Morse has arranged for a super cool hang gliding exhibit at the John Wayne airport to be installed next week. There will be gliders hanging from the ceiling, videos playing and numerous large pictures on display.

One other thing we are trying to work on is a map of Southern California that shows all the flying sites as well as several XC flights (to show that hang gliders do more than just "fly down the hill.")

This picture should explain what we are trying to do:

I am looking for some XC flight data from flights that originated from the Sylmar area. If anyone has a flight they would like me to include please let me know. Either post here or shoot me an email - designbydave ++AT++ gmail Dot Com.

Thanks guys

Dave

Hi Dave,
I'm also collecting interesting flights in SoCal and Owens areas:

Some flights is actual GPS tracks, but some of them is just recreated from story.

Its basically illustration of major XC routes in SoCal area.

Thanks,
Alex

Yes, Amazing Flights contains the history of Kagel adventures since 2005. It doesn't purge, all accomplishments are permanently archived. Yet another contribution of the forum and its moderators.
